Dear German Nerf friends,
We would very much like to invite you to our event.
I have not yet come up with an easy way to communicate as our own community moves mostly through a closed facebook group and a WhatsApp group.
Obviously you are more than welcome to join those!
Here is the text we posted in our own groups.
More information should become available in the upcoming week, and if there are any questions, I am happy to help.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We are trying to set up a unique Nerf event on Sunday the 6th of October.
In collaboration with ZandZieBar, a play-island situated between Arnhem and Nijmegen, we are organising "island infestation", or ii1. This exists alongside our regular Nerf Wars, and is meant as a yearly event to get as many Dutch and non-Dutch Nerfers together for one epic day.
The event has almost been realized, which is why we are announcing it. Soon (when the last details between us and ZandZieBar are finalized) we will start ticket sales.
brief overview:
- 09:00 gathering and unpacking our gear
- 10:00 game and safety instructions
- 10:30 everyone in position -> start of the first half of the game
- 12:00 end of the first half of the game -> recess for lunch
- 13:00 repeat of game and safety instructions
- 13:30 everyone in position -> start of the second half of the game
- 15:30 end of the game -> catch your breath
- 16:00 dartsweep
- 16:30 gather your gear and say your goodbye's
The costs for entry are 35 euro. This was built up from location fees, our dartpool and a small percentage for unforeseen expenses.
Food and beverages can be bought throughout the day at the beach-pavilion.
For lunch, the pavilion can provide fries and other snacks, but there is also a possibility to order a lunch (ahead of time) for the amount of 13,50 euro.
Parking is not included and costs 5 euro per vehicle.
We are only able to host ii1 through a pre-sale of tickets, thus covering the cost of the location. There is an end-date by which time we should have sold enough tickets. In the unlikely event that we do not meet our target by then, all the people who have purchased a ticket will receive their money back.
The day consists of one long game between two teams and an ever growing zombie horde in-between them. It is a combination of HvZ and an objective based Nerf War.
Because of the CQB nature of the island and the game, there is an FPS limit of 130. However(!) there are designated (long range) area's within the game where there is NO FPS limit for all you snipers out there.
Important!
The people who bring you this event are not an actual organisation and are not being payed. We are just volunteers trying to set up something amazing and will not accept any responsibility if something goes wrong. If you want to participate, you do so of your own volition and under your own responsibility.
After registration you must sign a form exempting us from any responsibility or liability.
