It shouldn’t be done!
But it’s clear how their thoughts had run:

And as I went on, I became more dismayed;
For they often didn’t modify the things they wanted me to buy

They’ll end up on Regretsy!
Steampunk is more than a mere mode of dress
or decoration, so it brings me some distress
To see a metal cicada described with that name,
Or a teacup,
a mood ring,
a silver gilt frame.

"Steampunk" refers to a type of science fiction
about alternate pasts (not future prediction),
Often set in Victorian Britain,
But the history of technology has been rewritten.
So put a bit of thought into your designs!
Use leather and brass, nineteenth century lines!
"Retro-futuristic" is a good explanation;
Blend antique reality with imagination.
But calling things “steampunk” to try to sound “cool”,
Makes you look like a bloody fool!

ich packe das hier erstmal in "lustiges" da ich immernoch keine werkstatt habe um wieder arbeiten zu können und ich daher auch keine erfahrungsberichte/eigenes tutorial dazu machen kann.
an und für sich kann ich mir aber vorstellen dass man mit dieser methode doch ganz gut einzelne komponenten oder auch gleich ganze bauteile anfertigen kann

Aber was man im Video nicht sieht: Dringend den Sand trocknen lassen bevor man heißes Metal reinkippt. Wasser in oder an Formen auch aus Sand kann ggf echt übel in alle Richtungen spritzen.Also immer lange Hosen und Shirts aus Baumwolle tragen. Tut weh sowas ans Bein zu bekommen

Erwartet aber keine glatten Oberflächen, wer es richtig machen will nimmt Ölsand.
Wenn das Original glatt genug ist, erreicht man mit Ölsand eine deutlich bessere Oberfläche und kann die Vorlage sogar mehrfach verwenden. Ich gieße damit in letzter Zeit Münzen, komplett mit "Prägung".

Was war eigentlich noch gleich der Grund, weshalb wir damit weder Boltsleds noch Fullmetal-Trigger herstellen?
Edit, nachdem ich weiter gelesen, gedacht, geplant habe: Die Formgebung des Polystyrols ist halt nicht ganz einfach, wenn man bestimmte Formen nachbilden will.
