Installed new stuff on the car:

- Bilstein shocks rear
- KYB shocks front (going to be Bilstein too, when they get their stuff together and finally deliver)
- Apex 35 mm lowering springs
- Wheels that originally came on a mini cooper

Next I'm looking for stabilisators front and back.

Starlet_lowered.jpeg

- It settled a bit after this photo, so is a bit lower now. Took this photo right after installing. Wheels are 15 inch with a little bit lower sidewall tire, but overall bigger which cancels a bit of that lowering.

Glad you like it, got mixed opinions lol. I like it though, that's most important. Will have to clean them regularly now though :S

4x100 indeed

Front lip would be cool, and there are some options. However I'm hesitant - I'm driving in a parking garage daily, that is quite steep. Going down I'd have to reduce my speed already to prevent rubbing. Some severe speed bumps too. I'm afraid it'll rip off too soon, and be a waste of money.

Saying that though: I think it's a good idea to roll the back wheel arches and fit a small spacer. Also debating on making the bottom half gray and putting a decal there. Cheap car, so I can do whatever I want :D

Why gray? Wouldn't Black be more fitting?
Yeah thoose back wheels need a bit more Offset! In my experience, a good quality lip wont rip off or tear /Cracker at all from scratching a bit over the ground.

Get some that are made out of a soft and flexible Material and not these Rock Hard cheap ebay knock offs.

I Know what i am talking about, my car is only 6cm above the ground :D

Does that pass TÜV? :D What car by the way?

But for the lip: I've only seen people use some lips from other cars: not really something available made for this car. It's old. So have to get something from another car and make it fit, or source some very hard to find, crazy expensive exclusive thing from Japan.

I'd consider gray because the bumpers and side trim are gray. I don't really fancy painting the bumpers, not sure how it will go with cracking and such. Probably would be some roll-on paint. :D So gray would match the existing bumpers. and I think it goes well with the rest, interior having gray pieces, and the decal works with gray too.

I had to pay about 450€ alone to get the lowering Kit and my Wheels /brake combo registered into my cars papers.... :/

A Mazda mx5/ miata.
Instead of roll on paint, it might be worth using vinyl wrap... Nice flat and easy surface on the sides :)

Your bumpers looked more Black than gray und in the pictures :)
Maybe look into plastidiping your bumpers, thats not too hard!

That picture is old as fuck though, don't have a newer one at Hand right now :)
It's way lower now, about 40mm wider on each side and has a big ass brake System and cooler wheels.

These wheels are 4x100 too! ;)

ooohhhhhh love the MX5! the NA is kinda my dream car - but I need the loading space I currently have with the Starlet (without back seats). That's not going to fit in an MX5.
Also kinda hard to get ones that are not totallyl rusted, and if they're not, they're becoming more expensive.

Love the look of yours, Gulf colors work with Blasted orange on the front :D

Respect for getting all that work done in Germany - I know it's hard. For some reason it's no problem to do mods in the Netherlands. Just installed the stuff, and going for an alignment when I get the Bilsteins for the front.

I already thought we should meet sometime, but maybe we should meet at the Ring now... :D

- about my stuff: vinly is harder than paint. I know plastidip, but at that point I'd rather just paint them. It's currently my daily at 800-1000 km/week, so I'm not doing too much to it. If I go two-tone I'll definitely show it though - I'll make a photoshop first.
